CIVIL condemns hate speech by Director of Delcevo Health Center

CIVIL condemns the hate speech shown in the statement of the Director of the Delcevo Health Center, Maria Gligorovska, in which she discloses that one patient is, as she says, from the “Roma population”.

“We have another case who has come in contact with our fellow citizen, who is from the Roma population. You know their psychosis is a bit different” – she stated.

In her statement for the media, she violates the privacy of patients, generalizes, discriminates and gives qualifications on ethnic grounds, from the position of an official representative of a public institution. Regardless of whether it is a matter of incorrect use of terms, Gligorovska with her statement is spreading ethnic prejudices and is encouraging hate speech.

CIVIL demands from the institutions to initiate a procedure in accordance to the legal regulations, with which such hate speech by a representative of a public institution will be sanctioned.
