Citizens from several Macedonian municipalities called Civil's office in the last couple of days to report that they personally or people close to them, have been subjected to unrelenting pressure about casting their vote for one or the other candidate for mayor.
Among other things, a female citizen from one of the municipalities that will have a run-off vote, reported that one of the candidates for mayor who "compete" in the second round of the elections, personally threatened that if her family members fail to vote for him, one of them fill be sacked from the job that is under their control.
Civil continues collecting information from the field. This information shall make part of the comprehensive report on the elections, and in the same time, Civil will continue informing all relevant state institutions and organisation, as well as the international missions.
Once again, Civil encourages citizens to cast their votes freely and irrespective of the pressures exerted by any party, because justice and laws are on their side.
Civil remains open to all citizens who might feel that their right to expression of their free will has been jeopardized in some way, and will do everything in their power to protect and help them; always putting the rights and freedoms of all citizens in Macedonia first.
Civil's team, comprised of over 140 people within the project "Free and Non-violent Election 2013", will remain mobile until the overall completion of these elections, and on the voting day will have people present at all polling units. Citizen can report irregularities if they notice any, or violation of their human rights and freedoms, at all times, on the following telephones: 02/520 91 76 and 075/742 445.
Today, in the afternoon hours, at only one day to the election campaign silence, Civil will place an information stand in Jagunovce.
