MOI claims that the Voters Register is not properly revised and laws and the Przhino Agreement are breached

The Ministry of Interior claims that the Voters Register is not properly revised and laws and the Przhino Agreement are breached.

The Macedonian Ministry of Interior issued a press release informing the public that the State Elections Commission (SEC) has received a document signed by the additional Deputy Minister Mitko Chavkov (of the ruling VMRO-DPMNE), who also delivered an encrypted CD with personal data of the Voters Register to SEC on 17. 04. 2016, contrary to the provisions of law and to the Przhino Agreement.

CIVIL has already issued numerous analysis and recommendations based on its long-term observation, in which the organizations has recommended postponement of the date for elections, because of the failure of the institutions to obtain conditions for free and credible elections in the country.

The President of the Macedonian parliament has called for early parliamentary elections on June 5, 2016, despite the criticisms and recommendations by CIVIL, numerous CSOs, experts and the international community representatives.
