Parliamentarians from Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the European Parliament will gather at Europe House on 7 September to discuss how closer parliamentary cooperation can strengthen support for Ukraine, European security and democratic resilience.
Parliamentarians from Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the European Parliament will meet at Europe House in London on Monday, 7 September, for “Ukraine and the Future of Europe: Unity, Security, Democracy”, a discussion focused on supporting Ukraine and strengthening Europe’s security and democratic resilience.
The event will take place at Europe House, London, on Monday, 7 September, from 9:00 to 12:00 UK time. The event can also be followed online. For audiences in North Macedonia and Central European Summer Time, the programme begins at 10:00 and runs until 13:00.

The event will bring together Ukrainian MPs Lesia Vasylenko and Vadym Halaichuk, British MP Ben Coleman, and Members of the European Parliament Sandro Gozi, Klára Dobrev and Mika Aaltola.
The discussion will be moderated by BBC correspondent Olga Malchevska.
At a time when Russia’s war against Ukraine continues to pose fundamental questions for European security and the future of the continent’s democratic order, the London meeting will examine how closer cooperation between parliaments can complement the work of governments and contribute to sustained support for Ukraine.
Alongside security and defence, participants will address democratic resilience, civil society and the role of local authorities, extending the discussion beyond military assistance to the broader democratic and societal dimensions of Europe’s response to Russia’s aggression.
The event is organised by the European Parliament Liaison Office in the United Kingdom, in cooperation with the Westminster Alliance for Ukraine and the European Parliament’s Office in Ukraine.
The Westminster Alliance for Ukraine (WA4U) is the flagship programme of the Defending Democracy Global Initiative (DDGI), founded by CIVIL – Center for Freedom, the New European People’s Forum (NEPF) and Media Dialogue. WA4U is led by its director, Roger Casale, and brings together parliamentarians, civil society, media and other democratic actors in support of Ukraine and stronger democratic cooperation across Europe.
From the podcast to Europe House
The upcoming event was also discussed in the opening episode of the second season of Eyes on Democracy, hosted by Roger Casale, Director of the Westminster Alliance for Ukraine, and Xhabir Deralla, journalist, human rights defender and President of CIVIL – Center for Freedom.
Their guest, Leena Maria Linnus, Minister Counsellor and Head of the European Parliament Liaison Office in the United Kingdom, joined the discussion on what parliaments, media, civil society and other democratic actors can do to support Ukraine’s fight for freedom and contribute to shaping Europe’s future.
The conversation also addressed the development of the Westminster Alliance for Ukraine and Deralla’s recent visit to Ukraine as part of the Germany-based Media Dialogue 2026 mission.
The episode places the London meeting within a wider question confronting Europe: Ukraine’s struggle is not only about the survival and freedom of one country, but also about Europe’s ability to defend its security, democratic order and unity in the face of authoritarian aggression.
