Voters “disappearing” from Voters Register!

The Voters Register must not become a tool for manipulations with the election results! CIVIL – Center for Freedom, today, especially in the last several hours, has registered many reports of citizens concerning persons who, according to their reactions, have been removed from the Voters Register. These are people who for years have been voting at the same voting station and who still figured in the Voters Register when they last checked the situation, before it was closed!

Revolted citizens who claim that they do not trust the state institutions, demand for the democratic public to be informed of what is happening through the civil society sector.

CIVIL is firmly demanding from the State Election Commission to immediately clear the newly created situation. The SEC has to come up with a methodology on how to enable deprived citizens, who are not at fault for the chaos in the Voters Register, to realize their constitutionally guaranteed right to vote.

CIVIL urges the SEC to send its officers on the ground and to adequately reply to all those “who have disappeared” from the Voters Register on the reasons for such development of events.

The Voters Register, especially after it has been closed, must not become a tool for manipulating with election results!

CIVIL calls for implementation of a clear procedure, through which all citizens will realize their right to vote!
