CIVIL demands from political parties to respect the Electoral Code, the Constitution and laws of the Republic of North Macedonia, to respect the election silence and to contribute to a democratic, lawful and fair Election Day on May 8, as well as during the voting on May 7.
Citizens expect fair and democratic elections, without pressures and abuses. Nothing less than that.
The elections reflect the spirit of democracy in a country and are organized for the citizens, not the parties. Therefore, every participant in the election process has a legal and moral obligation to contribute to a fair and democratic election process.
CIVIL demands from political parties to respect the democratic principles and to send out a message to their members and sympathizers to refrain from breaking the election silence, as well as from spreading hate speech and disinformation.
Voters have the right to an informed choice.
Media and civil society organizations, especially those involved in the election monitoring, have an extremely important, if not decisive role.
