Rising concern of citizens over Voters Register

CIVIL – Center for Freedom continues to receive a large number of reports daily on irregularities in the Voters Register. Concern is rising among citizens as each day passes, due to the short period of time that remains until June 5, the date which is scheduled for holding early parliamentary elections.

Many of them doubt there is enough time for verification of the Voters Register.“I have checked to see if I am on the Voters Register several times, and the conclusion is that I am not, even though I am registered with my ID number at the address where I live”, explains a women from Skopje in a telephone conversation with CIVIL, concerned she might encounter a problem on the day of the voting

“There are six people registered on the address of ‘Krste Misirkov’ Street, No.111, when actually there are only four people living there. In addition to my family, two more people with the initials G.A and G.G have also been registered on this same address”, was stated in a note CIVIL received, in hope that this mistake would be fixed by the elections.

“J.T, B.C. and A.L do not live on the street ‘Trst’ in Kumanovo, they never have. Whereas, the person with the initials A.C has been living in Serbia for over 20 years”, was stated in one of the recent reports CIVIL received.

CIVIL urges all citizens to continue reporting the irregularities they encounter in the list of voters.
