An event you don’t want to miss: Conference “Like elections – like future”

The Conference “Like elections – like future” organized by CIVIL will be held on Wednesday, April 10, at Hotel Park Residence (behind the football stadium) starting at 12.00 noon. At the Conference, representatives of CIVIL will share with the public not so known details from the recent election monitoring.

The President of the SEC, Oliver Derkoski, the President of the SCPC, Biljana Ivanovska, Deputy Minister of Administration, Aleksandar Bajdevski, State Advisor at the Ombudsman, Zoran Bilbilovski, Editor of “Sloboden Pecat” (Free press), Branko Geroski, Political Analyst, Saso Ordanoski, President of Inkluziva, Biljana Dimitrovska and many others will be speaking about the various aspects of the election process.

CIVIL’s speakers include: Angela Petrovska, Maja Ivanovska, Dehran Muratov and Xhabir Deralla, while the moderator of the Conference will be Biljana Jordanovska from CIVIL. Abuse of children and minors in a campaign, hate speech and false news, abuse, pressures and threats, political financing and early start of the election campaign are just some of CIVIL’s findings that will be presented at the Conference.

Representatives of the institutions, civil society, experts, the media and the international community have been invited, many of them having already announced their presence.

In this past period, CIVIL published a series of interviews with the highest representatives of several relevant institutions and government representatives, as well as with representatives of the expert community and the media.  At the same time, CIVIL also published a series of educational texts on the election process, which will be published in an online publication titled “Everything you want to know about the elections” that will be published on CIVIL’s media platform during the conference.

For years, ahead of the elections, CIVIL has been organizing such conferences, with the intention to strengthen public awareness and deliver recommendations for holding free, fair and democratic elections. This year, the conference is held as part of the project “Citizens for a free society”, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.
